The Fragmenti Cotto collection is deeply rooted in the Impruneta region, located near Florence, in the valleys of the Ema and Greve rivers. This area is renowned for its unique clay known as Galestro.

The raw material is processed through a technique called arrotatura, where steel brushes are used to remove extrusion marks and create the characteristic brushed surface of cotto.

The clay mixture, composed of earth and water, is degassed, extruded, and shaped. It then loses its natural moisture through a careful air-drying process that can last up to 42 hours. The final stage, firing, involves 72 hours of intense heat, reaching temperatures close to 1000°C. This process forges the material, giving it both strength and character, making Cotto di Impruneta a symbol of Made in Tuscany and Made in Italy.
